This is software we are using daily in our office. This Software is UK based software.
The user here work through citrix environmen.

There are two technology available in CITRIX SOFTWARE.

1.Thick Client Software
2.Thin Client Software

Thick client technology requires all the applications installed on the computer locally.

Thin client technology does not require applications to be installed locally and are accessed remotely.

Now we even have applications installed and use remote applications.

The user’s here work on thin client technology , but for the safer side we installed the application on the computer,in case if any problems on the remote Meta-frame server , we can access the application from the desktop.So primarily the users are advised to access applications remotely and citrix is medium use to access the applications remotely , which is called as thin client technology.

A server is set up with citrix met frame server application installed in it.The same configured with HTTP protocols. Now this server is said to be a CITRIX server.

A separate frame set for the CITRIX applications.This farm consists of many sub-server,each one installed with a particular applications or group of applications.

Now as shown above there is citrix proxy server & it is connected to the meta-frame server and has many load balancing application farm server.Each server has a group of applications installed for example DEDPW1011 has EXCEL 2003, WORD 2003,MCH installed whereas the other server have EXCEL2003, POWERPOINT.

The same many server may have EXCEL installed whereas some application like IBS may be installed on only particular serve.

LETS FIRST UNDERSTAND WHAT IS TRUSTED & NONO-TRUSTED and its differenc.

Basically we would find that STATESTREET is divided in TRUSTED & NON-TRUSTED zone.

NON-TRUSTED ZONE

Non trusted zone users work on thick client and thin client technology where they login in SYNTELINC domain locally. And in order toaccess the meta-frame , particular links are provided for UK, US based CITRIX Server.

For example:

1.https:// 192.250.118.10/dana-na/auth/url_default/welcome.cgi – CITRIXUS
2.https://192.250.40.5/dana-na/auth/url_default/welcome.cgi-CITRIX UK

BENEFITS:

1.The non-trusted users login in SYTELINC domain &via ASG (application secured gateway-firewall)logon to STATESTREET COPR network & access the application through citrix.

2.Non trusted zone has multiple networks or the users have to go via multiple networks for accessing applications.

TRUSTED ZONE

In trusted zone users login on STATESTREET CORP domain locally & access the citrix directly.Trusted zone has a single zone.
Trusted network has class A IP range & the user’s login in corp.Domain locally & in citrix.Where the user’s use following link for accessing citrix which do not need to go through ASG firewall.

For Example:

2.https://citirix .statestr.com/citrix/access platform/auth/login.aspx – for UK CITRIX
